How to Sell Wholesale Clothing on BalePick: A Guide for New Suppliers
Everything new suppliers need to know about selling wholesale clothing on BalePick, from applying and listing your first lot to filming walkthrough videos, setting prices and getting paid in US dollars.
If you sort, grade or export second-hand clothing, your buyers are spread across the world, and many of them have been disappointed by bales that didn't match their photos. That's the problem BalePick is built around: every listing is reviewed, every order is inspected at our hub, and buyers pay before you ship.
This guide covers everything a new supplier needs to know, from applying to getting paid.
1. Apply as an individual or a company
There are two types of seller accounts.
- Individual seller: for one person selling their own stock. You'll need a government-issued ID (national ID card or passport), proof of address from the last 3 months (a utility bill or bank statement), and your payout details.
- Company seller: for a registered business with a team. You'll need your certificate of incorporation or trade licence, your tax or VAT registration certificate, the government ID of the authorised signatory, and your company's payout details. The owner can invite team members with roles for listings, orders and finance.
Our team reviews every application and lets you know the outcome by email and in your account. A seller account is separate from a buyer account, so register as a seller from the start.
2. Choose how to list your stock
Every listing is one of two types:
- Exact lot: one specific lot, sold whole. The buyer gets exactly what's shown in your photos and video. Best for a one-off bale or a curated bundle.
- Representative listing: a sample of a larger stock. Buyers choose how many pieces they want, and you send pieces that match the declared category, brands, size range and grade. Best when you hold a large quantity of similar stock.
Got a large catalogue? Use bulk upload to add many listings from one spreadsheet instead of adding them one by one.
3. Film a walkthrough video buyers trust
A walkthrough video is required for every listing. It lets buyers judge stock they can't physically inspect, and it's also what we review before your listing goes live.
What makes a good one:
- Show the whole lot, not just the best pieces. Buyers trust a video that shows the ordinary pieces too.
- Pick pieces up. Hold a few up to the camera, showing the front and back.
- Get close to the details that matter for the grade: collars, cuffs, zips, underarms, hems and labels.
- Use good light. Use daylight or a bright room so colours look accurate.
- Keep it steady and unhurried. Slow pans are better than quick cuts.
If a buyer watches your video and receives exactly what they saw, they are more likely to come back. That's how supplier ratings are built.
4. Grade honestly
Choose the grade you'd stand behind: A (excellent), B (good, light wear), C (worn, visible flaws or repairs needed), or a mixed grade such as A/B, B/C or A/B/C. Every order is checked at our hub against its listing, so an honest grade helps protect you from disputes while also protecting the buyer.
5. Price per piece, with your payout in view
Every price on BalePick is per piece and in US dollars. As you enter a price, the listing form shows exactly what you'll receive per piece after commission and the platform fee, so you can set your price with the fees in view. Listing is free; the current rates are on our Pricing page.
To move more stock, you can:
- Put a listing on sale with an amount or percentage off.
- Add quantity breaks: buy more, pay less per piece, on representative listings.
- Accept, decline or counter offers. An accepted offer gives the buyer 48 hours to check out at the agreed price.
6. Answer buyers who come to you
Sales don't only come from your listings.
- Handpick requests: a buyer asks you to select a custom bundle by category, brand, size range, grade and budget.
- Demand Hub: buyers post exactly what they need, and you can send a quote with photos and a walkthrough video of the stock you hold. If the buyer accepts, it becomes a bundle reserved for them.
Keep every conversation on BalePick. Phone numbers, email addresses and links are hidden automatically in messages. This helps keep every deal and payout protected.
7. Ship to our hub, not around the world
When a buyer pays, confirm the order and send it to a BalePick hub within your dispatch time, packed as described. We inspect it against your listing, record photos and video in a QC report, and ship it on to the buyer. You don't have to arrange international delivery yourself.
8. Get paid in US dollars
Buyers pay at checkout, before you ship, and BalePick holds the payment. Your payout becomes due once the order is delivered and the buyer's 5-day window to report a problem closes with no open report. It's paid in US dollars to the payout details on your account, minus commission and the platform fee.
If a buyer reports a problem, you're notified and have 3 days to respond. You can offer a refund, offer to take the goods back, or explain why you disagree. If you can't agree, BalePick decides based on the listing, the QC report and the evidence from both sides.
The standards that keep you selling
- Honest listings: real photos, a real walkthrough video, the right category and brands, and a grade you'd stand behind.
- Accurate stock: only list what you have, and update quantities if you sell the same stock elsewhere.
- On-time dispatch: confirm orders promptly and send them to our hub on time.
- Deals on BalePick: keep conversations, offers and payments on the platform.
