The short version
- We use a small number of cookies: some keep you signed in and protect forms, some remember your language, currency and time zone, and — only if you allow it — Google Analytics helps us understand how the site is used.
- We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser; if you block the strictly necessary ones, signing in and checkout will not work.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between pages and visits — for example that you are signed in or which language you chose. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in a comparable way, and this policy covers them too.
Cookies set by BalePick are "first-party" cookies. Cookies set by another company's service that we use are "third-party" cookies. Some cookies last only until you close your browser ("session" cookies); others stay for a set period.
2. How we use them
We use cookies for three purposes: to make the Platform work and keep it secure (strictly necessary), to remember your settings (preferences), and to measure how the Platform is used so we can improve it (analytics). The tables below list every cookie our website sets.
Our mobile apps do not use browser cookies; the app keeps your sign-in and settings on your device instead.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Platform to work, so they cannot be switched off in our systems.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
.AspNetCore.Identity.Application | Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. | Up to 7 days, renewed while you use the site |
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.* | Protects forms from being submitted by another website on your behalf. | Session |
.AspNetCore.Mvc.CookieTempDataProvider | Carries a one-time confirmation message, such as "Offer sent", to the next page. | Session |
.AspNetCore.Correlation.*, .AspNetCore.Identity.External | Used only while you sign in with Google, to complete the sign-in securely. | A few minutes |
bp_consent | Remembers your cookie choices, so we do not ask again on every page. | 6 months |
bp_browse | Remembers the filters and sort order you chose on the marketplace, category, brand and supplier pages while you browse, so they are still set when you come back to a page. | Session |
4. Preference cookies
These cookies remember the choices you make so you do not have to make them on every visit.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
.AspNetCore.Culture | Remembers the language you chose for the site. | 1 year |
aw.currency | Remembers the display currency you chose for approximate conversions. | 1 year |
aw.fx | Remembers whether you want approximate conversions shown next to US-dollar prices. | 1 year |
aw.tz | Stores your time zone so dates and times are shown in your local time. | 1 year |
5. Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website — which pages are visited, how people arrive and where they leave — so we can improve it. Google Analytics collects information in a way that does not identify you directly, and we do not use it for advertising.
These cookies are set only if you allow analytics, in the cookie banner or in Cookie settings. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded at all; if you later withdraw your consent, it stops and the cookies it set are deleted.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics: distinguishes one visitor from another. | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics: keeps track of the current visit. | 2 years |
6. Browser storage
Our search box keeps your recent searches in your browser's local storage (awRecentSearches) so you can repeat them quickly. They stay on your device, are never sent to us, and remain until you clear them or your browser's site data.
7. Third-party services
Some pages use services from other companies, which may set their own cookies under their own policies:
- Google Analytics — website analytics, as described above.
- Google sign-in — only if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
- Our payment provider — on the secure payment page at checkout, to process your payment and prevent fraud.
8. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies in their settings, including cookies for just one site. Deleting cookies signs you out and resets your language, currency and time-zone choices. Blocking strictly necessary cookies stops sign-in, forms and checkout from working.
You can change your choice for BalePick at any time:
To stop Google Analytics measuring your visits on any website, you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on, available from Google's website.
9. Changes to this policy
If we add, remove or change the cookies we use, we will update this page and its "last updated" date.
